Spotlight Report on the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development Voluntary National Review (VNR) of Philippines

This report, facilitated and written by the Society of Trans Women of the Philippines (STRAP) Inc., critically examines the progress of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and 5 (Gender Equality) through the lens of transgender women, whose voices and lived realities are often excluded from national development narratives. STRAP is a pioneer support group and human rights organization for transpinays in the Philippines. Established in 2002, STRAP has long been at the forefront of advocating for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of transgender Filipinas. With members based in various parts of the Philippines—and a number of active members living abroad—STRAP represents a diverse and growing community committed to visibility, equity, and justice.
