Are the Sustainable Development Goals Delivering for LGBTIQ Communities in Nepal ?

The main objective of this report is to assess the progress and achievements made in the country on the SDGs through the perspectives of LGBTIQ community. Specifically, the review process covered the progress assessment of SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Moreover, the review work aims to facilitate the sharing of experiences, including successes, challenges and lessons learned.

This report was developed by ILGA Asia and 2 Nepalese LGBTI organizations: the Blue Diamond Society and Mitini Nepal. Mitini Nepal and the BDS conducted province-wise consultation meetings with LGBTIQ right activities through virtual modes and in-persons (Annex-II). The virtual meetings focused on gathering inputs from participants and reviewing the SDGs relevant to the sexual and gender minorities community based on LGBTIQ 2024 Spotlight Report Consultations Questionnaire.
