Spotlight Report: Thailand 2025
This Spotlight Report, submitted for Thailand’s 3rd Voluntary National Review (VNR) 2025, outlines the current human rights situation of LGBTIQ+ youth using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDGs 3 Health, 4 Education, 5 Gender Equality, and 8 Decent Work as a framework. Despite positive steps in Thailand, such as the legalization of same-sex marriage and inclusion of hormone therapy in national healthcare, many LGBTIQ+ youth continue to face discrimination, especially transgender and non-binary individuals who lack legal gender recognition.

Spotlight Report: Armenia 2024
This report is based on the data revealed through documentation and analysis by the professionals of Pink Armenia during legal and social support provided to LGBT+ people. The main findings that have taken place in the report concern the problems leading to bad economic conditions such as poverty, social non-stability, malnutrition, exception from different policies, as well as hate crimes on the grounds of sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression, violations of the right to access to justice and non-comprehensive, unequal approach by the State in implementation of the obligations to ensure human rights protection.

Spotlight Report: Kenya 2024
Kenya is actively working to achieve various SDGs, including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Despite these efforts, more focus is needed to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI) people are fully included and not left behind. This report highlights Kenya’s accomplishments and the relevance of campaigning for the equitable treatment and integration of LGBTQI people in all their programs and efforts connected to SDGs 1, 2, 13, 16, and 17, emphasizing the importance of addressing their gaps in the quest for sustainability.

Spotlight Report: Nepal 2024
This report was developed by ILGA Asia and 2 Nepalese LGBTI organizations: the Blue Diamond Society and Mitini Nepal. Mitini Nepal and the BDS conducted province-wise consultation meetings with LGBTIQ right activities through virtual modes and in-persons (Annex-II). The virtual meetings focused on gathering inputs from participants and reviewing the SDGs relevant to the sexual and gender minorities community based on LGBTIQ 2024 Spotlight Report Consultations Questionnaire. Spotlight Report: South Africa 2024
Production of this report and associated consultations with LGBTIQ+ organisations in South Africa made possible by Pan Africa ILGA (PAI) working in strategic partnership with Access Chapter 2. This report was produced in close partnership and collaboration with the following South Africa-based LGBTIQ+ groups physically located primarily in three major provinces, namely Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Western Cape and with service provision capabilities through satellite offices across most rural and remote South African locations.

Spotlight Report: Uganda 2024
This report was prepared with technical and logistical support from the Pan Africa ILGA (PAI), the African region of the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex (ILGA), and the Uganda Key Populations Consortium (UKPC). The invaluable contribution of several LGBTIQ+ organisations nationwide is also acknowledged.

Spotlight Report: Zimbabwe 2024 by ICoZ
The intersex community of Zimbabwe developed this 2024 spotlight report from consultations with intersex individuals and civil society organizations working to respond to the concerns of all intersex people in Zimbabwe. The report was also developed with input from a thorough desk review of public reports from civil organizations, government departments, public hearings, research reports and in-person consultation with intersex groups in Zimbabwe.

Spotlight Report: Zimbabwe 2024
This report highlights key milestones that the Zimbabwean government has taken to improve the lives of all LGBTIQ+ Zimbabwean citizens, more specifically around SDGs 1, 2, 3, 13, 16, and 17. The report will share insights on some of the key challenges LGBTIQ+ communities have faced concerning the Agenda 2030.

Ce rapport a été élaboré par le Réseau des Droits Humains pour l’Égalité au Burkina et COC Pays-Bas, avec le soutien de l’alliance The Power of Pride, qui réunit COC, ILGA Pan Africa et ILGA Asia dans le cadre d’un partenariat de cinq ans (2021–2025) avec le Ministère néerlandais des Affaires étrangères.

Spotlight Report: Guyana 2023
This report was developed by 3 LGBTI organizations from Guyana: Guyana Trans United, Guyana Rainbow Foundation and Proud to be Trans. It was also supported by The Power of Pride alliance that brings together COC, Pan African ILGA and ILGA Asia in a five-year partnership (2021-2025) with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Spotlight Report: Rwanda 2023
While many Sub Sahara African countries have formulated punitive laws against sexual and gender minorities, Rwanda is one of the few African countries that has assented to international conventions that protect the human rights of LGBTI people.

Spotlight Report: Tajikistan 2023
Tajikistan is a Central Asian country that has ratified most of the core UN human rights instruments and has committed to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Tajikistan endorsed the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. The new agenda, which implies the country's transition from the MDGs to the SDGs, is based on a comprehensive and inclusive approach to sustainable development in Tajikistan.

Spotlight Report: Turkmenistan 2023
In Turkmenistan, progress has been made towards achieving the SDGs, but significant challenges remain. For example, Turkmenistan faces issues such as gender equality, the criminalization of same-sex sexual activity, and the failure to implement recognized HIV prevention and treatment measures which pose significant barriers to achieving sustainable and equitable development. Addressing these challenges requires a comprehensive approach that takes into account the unique social, economic, and environmental factors that affect the country.

Spotlight Report: Uzbekistan 2023
This Spotlight Report on Uzbekistan (2023) was prepared by anonymous LGBTIQ+ researchers who, due to concerns for their safety, cannot disclose personal data. The researchers represent the Central Asian Gender and Sexuality Advocacy Network (CAGSAN). This report was supported by the Power of Pride alliance that brings together COC, Pan African ILGA and ILGA Asia in a five-year partnership (2021-2025) with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It highlights key challenges and achievements in areas such as social protection, climate resilience, gender equality, and inclusive economic growth. The report offers data-driven insights and policy recommendations aimed at promoting equitable and sustainable development in Vietnam.

Spotlight Report: Suriname 2022
In 2022, Suriname was among the 45 countries that volunteered to conduct a Voluntary National Review (VNR) of its implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
This report was led by PAREA–Suriname, in partnership with COC–Netherlands, and authored by Milton Andy Castelen, LLM & LLM.
